Unzipping Your Allwebco Website Template


Once you have downloaded your template .zip file, you will need to unzip the folder. You may also want to keep the zip file from the download so you have a backup of the original template files.

Unzipping on a MAC
You may need to download and install the free Stuffit Expander Once Stuffit is installed you can double click the folder that you have downloaded to unstuff it.

Unzipping in Windows 8

Unzipping in Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME
Find the folder (Example: bL0630.00-tempT23.zip) you have saved to your hard drive. This will most likely be in your downloads folder under your Windows login name.
  1. Find the .zip file in your downloads folder, or whatever folder you chose, and move this to the folder you plan to work in.
  2. Right click on the .zip folder and chose "Extract All".
  3. You will now have 2 folders, one is the zipped folder. One is the template folder. You may want to rename the .zip folder by adding BACKUP to the name.
    Example: "BACKUP-bL0630.00-tempT23.zip".

Unzipping option 2: Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME
If you did "Right click on the folder and chose "Extract All" and this did not work properly:

  1. Find the .zip file in your downloads folder, or whatever folder you chose, and move this to the folder you plan to work in.
  2. Double click the .zip file to open it.
  3. Right click on the folder inside the .zip file (Example: tempT23) and choose copy.
  4. Move out of the .zip folder and go to the folder you plan to work in and choose "paste".
  5. What many users will do is right click on the Windows desktop and choose "paste". Keep in mind that if you paste on your desktop this is not a shortcut, so be sure you do not delete this folder.
  6. You will now have 2 folders, one is the zipped folder. One is the template folder. You may want to rename the .zip folder by adding BACKUP to the name.
    Example: "BACKUP-bL0630.00-tempT23.zip".

Windows Troubleshooting:
If you open the unzipped template folder and see no images you may be working in the .zip folder. Check that you are working in the unzipped folder. You can also contact us and request a new download.

Notes on Winzip software
If you are having problems with unzipping using Winzip software, check the "View" selection on the menu bar at top and select "View Files by Folder (Explorer Style)" to unzip the template into it's proper folders.

Unzipping in Windows 98, 95
You may need to download and install the free version of Winzip on your computer to unzip the files. Once Winzip is installed you can double click the folder that you have downloaded.

Start Editing:
Once your template is unzipped you will need to edit the pages. First thing, find the "help.html" that is included in the download. Follow the step-by-step directions that are included. See the links below for more help and software.
